GMER is an application able to see if there are any rootkits in your PC. A rootkit is a piece of code which on its own isn't damaging or prejudicial to your system, but can be highly dangerous if it joins with some virus or trojan, as it will hide and mask them, making them invisible to any anti-virus.

So that no corner of you PC is unexplored, GMER scans processes, services, files, entries in the Registry and even hidden drivers, together with libraries and TCP/IP connections. It is a very simple program which works almost on its own, without needing any help from you, and it's free. It takes no effort to be protected and have an effective antidote against the threat of rootkits.
